History of DSMS

DSMS, one of the leading management institutes in India, started its journey way back in 1990. It began with a humble and honest approach to rightfully impart skilled training in the field of hotel management.

DSMS qualified to have been accorded approval from AICTE in the year 1997 to run 3 Yr. full-time Diploma in hotel management catering and applied nutrition. With more and more demand from the hospitality and tourism industry, DSMS introduced four more Bachelor Degree courses of 3 and 4 years [(BHMCT, BHSM, BTTM, BBA (T&H)] It was during this time, DSMS tied up with Schilar University, Switzerland to have a student and teacher exchange program which added to its existing pedagogy, an international flavor, and prestige.

At the beginning of 2004-05, DSMS started introducing various undergraduate and postgraduate first-degree professional courses in the fields of Business Administration, Computer Application, Hospitality Management & Healthcare. All these courses were introduced based on the industry requirement during that period.

DSMS is affiliated with Kazi Nazrul University since 2015, running courses like Hotel Management, BBA, BCA, and BBA(Hospital Management). It has also its master’s degree program – MHA under the West Bengal University of Health Science. Introduction of GNM & B.Sc Nursing is the recent feather to its crown.

DSMS is extremely proud to have nurtured scholarly students who glorified the name and fame of the institute by securing Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals from the University year after year. DSMS is extremely fortunate to have a strong base of alma mater across the globe, whose constant support helped to have a meaningful industry institute tie-up thus helping the students in getting the finest of the training and secured placements.
